Strainer shall be constructed completely of non-corrodible materials. Body shall be fiberglass construction incorporating a .100” corrosion liner on all interior surfaces and flange faces that are not PVC. Liner shall be constructed of one layer of resin-rich “C” veil, followed by two layers of 1.5 ounce glass mat, impregnated with isophthalic polyester resin.
The inlet and outlet are to be flanged connections. Flange to be drilled to 150# ANSI standard drilling pattern. The lid is to be manufactured of clear acrylic sometimes reinforced with fiberglass frame to allow unobstructed visual inspection of the basket. Lid shall be sealed with an ethylene propylene “O” ring.
Strainer is to be built with an outlet structure to enlarge the opening in the basket chamber. Outlet are of the basket chamber shall be a minimum of four times the area of the inlet pipe. Designs similar to a pipe cross, with the outlet of the basket chamber being a nozzle similar to the inlet, are not acceptable.
Supply a V-wire 316 stainless steel basket with 3/16” square holes and 62% open area. Supply one spare basket for change-out.
Strainer to be T series as manufactured at Mer-Made Filter, Denmark, SC 29042, 803-793-4265.
Option – Reducing strainer
Strainer outlet shall reduce to pump suction size by use of a full concentric reducing section.
T-Style strainers offer a lower cost alternative for services that have lighter debris load and require infrequent cleanings.
Engineered for Commercial Systems
Strainer Housings are fiberglass reinforced plastic construction. FRP and stainless steel components assure that wetted parts will not rust. Features include quick opening latches, see-thru lid, and stainless basket. Flanged connections are drilled to ANSI 150 LB. Standard strainers are tested to 50 PSI.

Transparent Lid
Clear acrylic lid allows inspection of the basket without opening the strainer. On 14” diameter and larger units, the lid is FRP with an 8” diameter viewport.
Available as a Reducer
The outlet size can be sized smaller than the inlet to allow direct reduction to pump suction connection.
